The Los Angeles Angels fortified their bullpen with the recent acquisitions of right-handed pitchers Luis Garcia and Adam Cimber. The team signed Garcia to a one-year contract worth $4.25 million and secured Cimber for a one-year deal amounting to $1.65 million, totaling a $5.9 million agreement.
Garcia, 36, brings a seasoned presence, having posted a 4.07 ERA in 61 relief appearances for the San Diego Padres last season. With 485 career appearances (including four starts) across 11 seasons and five teams, Garcia’s experience is set to make a valuable contribution.
Cimber, 33, joins the Angels after a stint with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he recorded a 7.40 ERA in 22 appearances last season. Notably, he shared the major league lead with 77 appearances the year prior.
Over six seasons with four different clubs, Cimber has demonstrated a solid track record with a 3.49 ERA in 323 relief appearances.
The Angels, whose bullpen ranked 25th in the major leagues with a 4.88 ERA last season, aim to bolster their pitching arsenal with these strategic signings, addressing crucial areas for the upcoming season.
